Web 2.0 tools is such an amazing thing to be able to have in today’s teaching world. I have done a lot of research on Web 2.0 tools previously in other education classes, and am so lucky because it is a great tool to have in your classroom. I had to make a science notebook one semester, and got the majority of my resources from the Web 2.0 tools website. I think that web 2.0 is changing not only the way we teach, but how our students are learning. I think that it is a positive change. I also found out that I do like Wiki’s because it seems like the students also like it, which in turn helps spread information better. I believe that these tools make it so much easier to find materials, links, and even teaching suggestions. I think that this can make us better educators with a little push towards the right direction.
I agree with you about Web 2.0 being able to change how our students are learning. I know that I would've benefited and maybe gotten more out of my classes in the past if these tools had been used. I think it is a great thing that is happening.

Hi Sarah,
ReplyDeleteYou are right: Web 2.0 tools allow much more flexibility in how teachers give material and more importantly, how students learn. By giving them different avenues on how they accept information and share what they have learned and what ideas they may have come up with cognitively, teachers can more effectively teach their students to be independent learners. We do it too, when we use Web 2.0 tools to do our own research. If we find certain successes with these tools, we can also believe it for our students.
