First blog...

My name is Sarah Marshall-Moss. My new last name is "Marshall" not Moss...but I just recently got married in October to the man of my dreams! I am and aide in a Life Skills class at a junior high school, and love it. I never thought that I would enjoy working at that grade level. I am currently in my third semester here at TAMU-C. I am shooting for May of 2013 with a Bachelor of Science, and a certificaion in elementary education. When I'm not working or going to school, I like to spend time with my family! My reasoning for wanting to be a teacher is because I LOVE children. I am a very patient person, and seem to have more patient for children than I do for many other things. I want to be "that" teacher who touches lives, as well as teaching them at the same time. I don't think that all of our student's in our schools today get all the education they can get.

 I have many high hopes for this class. My hopes for this class is the learn and explore all the great ways of how I can use technology the correct way in my class. I want to be able to allow my students to get on the computer and actually learn something, instead of just "play". I want to learn all the in's and out's of the internet and learn what sites to use for my classroom. I am hoping that this class will show me when and how to use technolgy. I want to be able to show my student's how to access the web and get on the sites that they can use all the time for active learning. I am not technology savvy, so I'm hoping that this class will enhance my vision of technology. I want to use this class to help me be a better teacher.

Technology in the classroom a new thing...but yet such a wonderful tool. There is so much that you can do now-a-days on the internet to benefit our student's. People from all ages are comsumed with technology today. Whether it is their laptop, phone, or television. That is the reason why I think that technology is good in the classroom today. The schools have began updating their classrooms with the new technology, for example the Promethen board and Smart board's. I have personally used a Smart Board and it is a very wonderful thing to be able to use in the classroom. The children can actually touch the board and get interaction, which in turn allows active learning. There are so many ways that you could use technology in your teachings. I feel that by implementing technology in your classroom and teachings, you are setting up a positive learning enviorment.
